Marinda Combrinck
Studio and Art Gallery

Marinda Combrinck is a professional fine artist who
lives and works in the picturesque village of Calitzdorp in South
Africa. Working mainly in oil, Marinda’s original paintings reflect a
variety of themes and subject matter. At present she is focusing
primarily on representing her own impressions of her immediate
surrounds, in an attempt to capture the essence of the Little Karoo and
its people. Her portrait series of local Calitzdorp inhabitants, aptly
titled “Portraits of Calitzdorp”, is currently drawing a lot of
attention and is well worth viewing.
Although Marinda is represented by several South African galleries, the
bulk of her work can be viewed at her own gallery and studio in
Calitzdorp which is open to the public. Locals and tourists alike are
invited to visit the gallery and interact with the artist in her working
environment.

Works may be bought at the gallery itself or
arrangements can be made to have paintings sent by courier to any
destination, locally and abroad. Marinda also works on commission.
In her twenty year artistic career Marinda has participated in numerous
solo and group exhibitions and was also invited to exhibit work in
Dublin, Ireland. Apart from her own work, she is often invited to work
with artistic teams on large-scale projects such as murals and ceiling
paintings, e.g. for the Diaz Hotel in Mossel Bay and the Emperor’s
Palace in Gauteng.
Marinda’s extensive experience as an artist has equipped her with the
skills to work in any scale and size. As a hobby she enjoys painting
copies of works by the great masters (usually on commission), although
her own work always takes precedent and will always be where her true
passion lies.
Examples of her copy art can be viewed at the
neighbouring ‘Die Handelshuis’.
